How to Edit Photos – Instagram & Blog!

Editing pictures is a must, I edit my pictures for my blog, twitter and Instagram and theres nothing wrong with doing so. One of the reasons why I edit is because, I want the picture to look the best it possibly can, and when the lighting is bad or, the background isn’t as white as you would like it to be, there is nothing wrong with editing it. As you’ll be able to see, my original photo looks shocking compared to the one I edited and to get the result isn’t that hard to do. I only used 3 apps and I couldn’t recommend them anymore, they are the only apps I used and I love them!

The Apps

-Snapseed

-VSCO Cam

-FaceTune

Believe you me, if you want to have better looking pictures you will only need these 3 apps, if you want to see how I got my final photo, keep reading!

The Original

I hate seeing the original photo, I should probably learn how to use my new camera. But, I have never been to good with technological stuff, I’ll get my boyfriend to teach me instead haha. As you can see, its quite a dark photo and nothing is saying wow about it. Everything is looking dull and not exciting, so lets change it!

The Editing

The first app I go to is Snapseed, and the only feature I use is Tune Image. This is where you can change the brightness, contract, saturation and other things. I decided that the whole picture needed to change so I made everything more vibrant. But, the result still wasn’t what I wanted, as it still looked quite bland.

VSCO Cam

Next I go over to VSCO cam which I use for filters, I personally only use 2 but, they are all quite good. The 2 I will always use are HB1 and HB2. However, for this photo I decided to go be HB2. You never want to leave the filter on full, as it will look unnatural. So, I tone mine down to around half way, and that just makes it look a bit more natural. I don’t really use anything else on this app but, sometimes I like to change the clarity or sharpen the picture.

FaceTune

This is the app I go to when I want to whiten the back ground of a picture or smooth some details. For this picture I just chose to go with the whiten tool, and all I do is whiten the whole background and erase anywhere I want to actually have colour. For example, I went over the nail polish bottle and it made it white, so I went over it with the rubber tool and it went back to pink. Other photos take a couple of whitening to get it to the actual whiteness you actually want.

The Final Picture

And heres the final picture! I much prefer this one over the original, and I feel it looks quite natural that someone could of actually taken this photo. I obviously don’t take the best photos and I will never claim that but, my photography has actually improved a lot, well my editing anyways haha. Theres always room for improvement, and thats what I intend to do, and hopefully I have taught you something for your own photos.
