Girl In Red – The Colour of the Season!

Red is everywhere at the moment, you can’t go into a store without seeing it plastered all over the walls! I’m not against though, it’s nice to have a pop of colour in your outfit sometimes. Especially when my outfits are mostly monochrome, it’s fun to experiment with a bright bold colour.

I saw this T-Shirt in Newlook and I had to get it, I wish it said 1996 instead of 1994 but, for all you 22/23-year-olds its a great top for you haha. This colour is unbelievably bright, these pictures actually don’t do it justice at all, and I love it.

However, if you don’t want to go head first into the red trend, the best thing to do is go for accessories instead. I have seen some amazing red handbags and clutches in several different stores, most recently in Debenhams (it was quite expensive) and I was drawn to it straight away. Having a bold bag is a really easy and cheap way to start using a trend you like, I certainly wouldn’t spend a lot on a trend that you would only wear for one season. I like to shop in places like BooHoo and Newlook for trend pieces, as they are the most affordable, you may not get the best quality but for a cheap price, you shouldn’t really care.

Red Bag Options

TopShop – Leather Orlo Cross Body Bag £29

Newlook – Red Patent Asymmetric Flap Clutch Bag £10

BooHoo – Hannah Metal Detail Tote £18

Debenhams – The Collection Bright Red Double Zip Pocket Grab Bag £14.50 (Sale)

Another way to wear red is through earrings, which would look perfect for the party season coming around, which means you can wear them for Christmas or New Years!

Red Jewellery Options

River Island – Red Teardrop Tassel Drop Earrings  £10

H&M – Hoop Earrings £6.99

Then there is the clothing part of this blog, which can still be very wearable, even in red. Like I said before, my top is from newlook and it was only £9.99, which is a great price! There are also other ways to wear red, such as in skirts. I really want to start wearing skirts for this autumn and a deep red one would look perfect with some tights and ankle boots. I’m starting to get some ideas for future outfits, how exciting!! haha, anyways, I’ve found this leather look mini skirt from Newlook for £19.99 and its the perfect colour. On Newlook as well (I swear this isn’t sponsored!) there is a cute lace frill peplum shirt, which is a more professional looking red trend. Think I may have to pick it up myself though! Lastly, there is the red jacket look. I don’t personally think I would wear a bright red jacket but, I’m going to link one anyways.

Red Clothing Options

NewLook – Dark Red Leather Look Mini Skirt £19.99

Newlook – Red Lace Frill Trim Peplum Hem Shirt £17.99

MissGuided – Red Faux Suede Crop Biker Jacket £40

Red 1994 Print T-Shirt £9.99

I’m all for affordable clothing options that’s why I have linked mostly affordable items because like I said you don’t want to spend a fortune on something you’ll wear for one season. I wonder if anyone else has taken to this trend, and what you’s actually think of thsi trend!

Till next time x
