Is There Enough Room For All Of Us?

Petite Obsession - Petite Fashion Bloggers

A question that I ask myself on a daily basis is, can there really be this many bloggers and this is their room for everyone?

If you haven’t noticed, there are a lot of bloggers out there! Out of the 500 people I follow on Twitter, about 90% of them are bloggers or some sort of influencer. Don’t get me wrong, I love reading blog posts and watching YouTube but, is there enough room for everyone in the blogging world, myself included?

Sometimes I Think There Isn’t

This makes me really upset, not just for myself but, for everyone else out there who is actually trying to make their blog their business. It is becoming incredibly hard to grow on any social media site now because people seem to be afraid of ruining their precious following to followers ratio! And don’t get me started with Instagram, and the follow/unfollow method that seems to be going around (Seriously don’t do this, I will unfollow you straight back!).

When you can’t grow your following, you can’t grow your audience and as a result, your work won’t get seen! How discouraging is this? This statement literally makes me want to cry! I work quite hard on my blog and for people not to even see my work is devastating.

Then, when you add all of the other bloggers who are trying to get seen as well, your blog seems to get pushed to one side. This isn’t their fault, they are just wanting the same thing you are, and that’s to be seen. I totally understand this, this is what every blogger wants. But, is it too much?

It Really Shouldn’t Be!

It shouldn’t be this hard for your blog to get seen, especially if everyone works together to help each other grow! Obviously this would be an ideal world, and we certainly do not live in one of those. But, everyone should be welcome and we as bloggers should make sure that we are reading blogs, retweeting tweets and liking photos as all of these little things really does make a difference.

I love the fact that some many people want to blog and get their opinions out there for the world to see! It really does make me so happy. But, the blogging world is becoming quite competitive and you may see someone as your friend but, they may see you as their competition. It really is a dog eat dog world (I wouldn’t recommend eating a dog).

Does It Have To Stay This Way?

Of course not! I’ve actually set myself a mission for every month starting from February (I missed January!) to find blogs that I love and do a whole blog post featuring them. I want to spread some love around, instead of constantly ripping other bloggers down. Also, if you are a blogger who is wanting to get more recognition there are loads of twitter accounts who will retweet your tweet if you tag them. I do this for nearly all of my blog posts and I get quite a few readers from them. Another great thing that some of these accounts offer are blog comment threads and blog chats, I love getting involved in these but I don’t always have the time and it sucks!

Heres the ones who I use;

#BloggersTribe Chats – SAT’s at 7pm GMT | Blog Comment Threads – FRI & SUN’s at 8pm GMT

#Thebloggercrowd

@femalebloggerRT

#GRLPOWER Chats : Tuesday/Sunday 9pm. Comment Thread Thursday 8pm. (All UK time)

Can everyone fit into the blogging community? Who knows, but I’m sure as hell going to try to make everyone included!

    Great post! I hate the whole follow/unfollow game. I literally had someone follow my on instagram yesterday, I followed them back and about an hr later (if that) they unfollowed me?? Like what?? I do not understand! So much effort for people to see you have unfollowed them too! We should all work together to help each other! Love the idea you’re doing of featuring blogs! Also, your photo’s are always amazing!!

    I sometimes think if it is worth carrying on blogging as there are so many people. However, everybody likes different things, so I guess there is room for all of us because we all have different views, likes and opinions on the same issues/topics/items. Fab pictures, it would have made the post even better if you were sponsored by Cafe Nero, haha! Maybe one day!

    I’m not the biggest fan of bloggers who only blog to bully others or receive free things, they really annoy me! I love this blog post babe and can relate to so much of what you said. Thank you for sharing 🌸✨

  • I really enjoyed reading this post. I’ve had the same thoughts you’ve had about there being so many bloggers so I get where you’re coming from. It’s so competitive if you’re trying to craft your blog into a business (which is one reason why I know mine will never be more than a hobby!) but the blogging community is also really friendly and because there are so many of us, you’re sure to find someone who you get on with. That’s one benefit of the community being so saturated with us!

    this is a great post and it has started to make me think also but i do think there is room for all of us. I am the type of person that if i get an opportunity i tell a blogging or youtube friend who i know might be interested or want to do something similar, what they do with the info is up to them. Companies and [eople are always on the look out for bloggers and youtubers whether small or big

    I really enjoyed this! And I love the idea of your monthly blog post. I love when other blogger support one another like that, and you’re right, the small things really do help. It’s a little depressing how often the ‘is there room for everyone’ question crops up though when there are so many of us x
